I snatched this Ruger Mark II Target up at my local shop today when I saw the price! $250 with 1000 rounds of ammo.

Congrats! Looks nice.

Next post: "I took my Mark II apart for cleaning and I can't get it back together!" :neener:

Okay, they're not *that* bad, but they're incredibly frustrating the first time you do it. ;) Just don't field strip it until it REALLY needs it, which should be in a few thousand rounds.

Smoking deal...

buy yourself a nice hoppes bore snake and a brass receiver brush to clean out the bolt face and chamber. Then you'll really never need to take it down completely :)

I don't get why people make a big deal about field stripping a MK. They are a simple design.

I will give you $251 for it and you can keep the ammo ;)

Heavy barrel tapered, you have one of the best balanced atuos ever made, have been looking for that model. $250? I never find those deals

The balance is amazing! I never held this particular model until I got my hands on this one and instantly I was sold. Not just for the price but for how it felt, I've owned Ruger .22 autos before but never one that felt as balanced as this one. The Mark II Target in SS with the 6 7/8 in tapered barrel configuration is a relatively hard model to find and to get one at this price is astounding to me, I can't wait to get this baby out to the range!

You didn't just "snatch" that Ruger, at that price you stole it! Congrats on a truly great aquisition.

Agreed, I had issues with reassembly at first but then I figured out that I didn't need to take it all the way down anyways.

Many, many thousands of rounds through my MK3 and I've just been flushing it out with break free, spraying some oil, and running a brush down the barrel every couple thousand rounds.

100% reliability so far.

Slap a Hogue contoured grip on that bugger and you will never want to put it down.

Nice pick-up. Congrats!

Have to agree, you should be turning yourself in for theft ;)

Nah, the pics show he has the manual, it's the folks who try and put the mainspring assembly back in without reading the directions that have trouble.

got to watch my father and his eldest brother try to do just that around 15 years ago, was entertaining to say the least.

Pretty much the same procedure for the MK II

Absolutely beautiful! Somehow I doubt this is your first MkI-III, but if it is don't worry about the field strip. Sure it's a little finicky but there are good references out there.

Enjoy it!

Nice score! Your's is not that common and a great find.
That's a smoking deal as well.
I have several MKI & MKII. They are all fun to shoot. I'm sure you are really going to enjoy yours.

Was the ski mask you wore uncomfortably hot in this weather? Seriously, a great deal on a great pistol!

Excellent deal. I sold one with a blued finish earlier this year and got $300 for it. I'd say you bought yours for about $100 less than it's worth, and that doesn't even include the ammo.
