I'm considering getting a new IAC 1911 govt. Is anyone familiar with their customer service ( just in case ) as opposed to say RIA 's ?

Thanks

IAC??

Interstate Arms Corps. They import firearms, generally Norinco made stuff IIRC. geo57, I have no idea about IAC's customer service. A lot of the stuff has a reputation for being a bit rough around the edges. That said, I've been eyeing their repro 1897 shotguns for a while.

Actually fellas, the IAC imported pistol I speak of is a Turkish made 1911 that has had for the most part pretty favorable reviews. I was just wondering if anyone had had one ( specifically their Series 70 model ) back for service, where it was sent, results, etc.

geo57, I know the ATI 1911s are also made in Turkey and I have heard no complaints about them. I'd almost venture to guess they were made in the same factory as what you're looking at, much like most of the Philippines made 1911s are pretty much made in the same factory. I've been looking into the ATI 4.25" 1911. For the price point, it's hard to go wrong unless the thing is simply a brick.

AA, these are made by Trabzon Guns Industries Corp if that helps.

If the pistol you speak of is the "Regent" R-100 or the "Regent" R-200. (These pistols being imported by Umarex) Then, YES, for a basic G.I. 1911, these are good to go!!

Really good G.I. 1911 at a great price.

btw: My brother owns one, wish I did as well.

Okie from what I gather the Regents have the series 80 firing pin block. The pistol I'm considering has all series 70's internals. Reviews from both can be found if Googled.
