Hi all. I just recieved my recoil reducer and mounting bracket today yet it didn't come with any instructions as to proper installation. I was wonder if someone could walk a mechanical reject through this.
thanks in advance,

Its pretty simple and I believe the directions are in the Manual for the shotgun itself. What model are you installing it in? I have a Nova and when I get home I can scan the directions for you if that is the model you have. I'll check my GF's SBE manual as well.

Just saw your tag line, Benelli Nova
Tools needed, 1 long Phillips head screwdriver, 1 utility knife, pencil or marker and either a small flashlight or work light.
Read before attempting.
1st, Check to make sure your shotgun is unloaded.
Before installing the buffer assembly, there are a few things that need to be done. I'm assuming you got 2 screws, the plastic assembly, the mercury buffer, a metal piece a little bigger than a stretched out half dollar(I dont remember what it was called) and a black tube.
Place the mercury buffer in the assembly. Place the black tube in behind it. There should be plenty of excess tube sticking out. Look for a slot in the assembly. Use the pencil or pen and put a mark on the black tube. Take the black tube out and you should have a mark on it. I made my intial cut of the tube and 2-3mm farther down on the long side so I made the small section bigger. I wanted the excess so that I could make it fit snugly.
Cut the tube and place it behind the mercury buffer. Attempt to slide the metal piece in. If you can't, cut about 1mm off the tube and try again. Repeat as needed. You do NOT want the buffer to be able to bounce around in there. This part took me about 10 mins, 7 of that was trial and error to get the black tube the right length.
Check Shotgun that it is unloaded. Remove butt pad. Look for the 2 screw holes and alighn the buffer assembly so that it matches up with the holes. IIRC the buffer assembly will only fit in 1 way. I had the shotgun pointed down with the barrel resting on my shoe while I did this.
Screw in the 2 screws into the holes, I used the light to help me guide the screws into the hole and help me find the screws when the screwdriver slips. Make the screws snug, your tighting plastic.
Replace butt pad. Took me about 15 for everything.
I'll still look for the instructions when I get home.
Good Luck
