I live in a part of Alabama that is what is commonly referred to as being out in the sticks. Rarely do you hear of any shooting; mostly meth heads trying to cook their own stuff.
In the local news paper was an article that got my attention. Around 3:00 in the morning a young mother heard someone breaking into their home, the kid that broke the door in started up the stairs, when she responded with one shot. Police found him bleeding in front yard, and stated that visible signs of forced entry, blood trail from house to where he was laying spoke for itself. Glad to see the good ole girl from the sticks knows how to handle herself.
