FYI, fellow law enforcement types--

On Friday, February 27th, 2004, Denton P.D. (Denton, TX) is holding an open match open to any cops. The match will be held all day, from 0800 to 1800, running flights through as they accumulate. Usually you can be in and out in about 45 minutes. It's usually 3 or 4 stages.

You have to shoot your duty pistol from whatever duty rig you work with. Bring 50 rounds, but you'll probably not need them all.

Cost is $5.00 per shooter, and $2.50 each for an extra gun. Carbines are welcome to run through the course.

They'll email you your score and standings and times. As you shoot over the year, you can earn points for standing at the end of the year, with top scores winning some modest cash prizes. If you DON'T want your scores posted or kept, they'll respect your confidentiality.

Attitude is very positive, with a focus on real training. I've shot these matches a couple of times, and recommend them to our local cops.

The Denton P.D. range is on Airport Rd in Denton, immediately east of the Denton Municipal Airport on the north side of the road.

Hope to see some of y'all there.

Best regards,

Matt G.
(NOT a Denton Cop, BTW.)
