A friend of mine said that he'd be giving me a few guns of my choice to repay a big favor (was supposed to be limited to $2,500 BUUUUUT it went a little further. haha). Well I decided on which ones I wanted and finally got them all!

Springfield XDm 5.25 in 9mm with Trijicon RMR (Dual illuminated) and Streamlight TLR-1S (it got the barrel jeweled & a trigger job):

Yeah I see a little more than $2500 there. If I got all that stuff at once I would not know what to do with my self. What to shoot first... drool...

Well, if both parties are happy I don't see anything that could breed any bad blood down the road.

I have to admit, as much as I don't like PSL's (mostly due to one turning into an IED on me) that one you got sure is pretty.

Good grief.

Did this favor involve a late night trip with a pickup truck, tarp, and shovel??!!!

Wow.

Good collection man.

So you mean to tell me them arn`t real, they are just toys ! Well they don`t look like toys to me............Kids don`t get killed playing with toys, you think kids don`t read this stuff, quit calling em toys, Guns Are Not Toys !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots of people use that saying, I don't think by this thread that some little kid is going to think 'oh wow they ARE toys, I'm going to go find one and start playing!'

I don't know how many times I've been asked 'get any new toys lately?' and everyone in the room knew they were referring to guns.

PS: Nice addition to the collection! :D

I also refute the "toy" bashing argument.

I have several firearms which are just that - expensive man toys. :)

I also have several firearms which are decidedly not toys, which fill a particular purpose.

Case in point; You cannot possibly tell me that a semi auto PKM general purpose machine gun is anything BUT an expensive range toy.

You have to remember - NOT EVERY FIREARMS OWNER HAS A SERIOUS PURPOSE - owning guns for "FUN", and ONLY fun, is a perfectly valid reason for firearms ownership.

The ONLY way I can justify owning a PKM, or Barrett M95, or MG42, or MG34, or RPD, or RPK, or any number of other firearms is for FUN. There's no practical application for me to own them as a civilian.

So if you say otherwise, you take away my only real remaining justification for private ownership of these fine weapons.

For a kid to see a thread such as this and, then happen upon a gun, think that they gun is a toy, and use the gun to hurt someone there has to be quite a long chain of events that has a lot more issues than someone referring to their hobby a toys.

If a child is old enough to read and doesn't understand the difference in toys and guns then we have a big failure on the parents parts. If that child has the ability to get his hands on guns we have even q bigger failure.

Just curious about you feelings toward things like waterguns and G.I. Joes. Do you feel that kids should not play with them?

Also what would you define as a toy. Many traditional toys are dangerous. Bikes, trampolines, and baseball bats are dangerous. Children should be thought how to use them. The word toy does not mean free of danger.

My guns are toys. It is my hobby

I want to get wooden grips for it but i can't find anywhere in Miami to buy them..and I don't want to buy online because the set may look different than the advertised pictures

tightgroup tiger: Those are gorgeous guns, You scored big! Let us know how the XD with the halo shoots, I would love to know.

I'll be sure to post a review w/ pics whenever I finally make it to the range

...And I'm over here DYING LAUGHING at the ex-wife line. I just turned 24 so i think that I'm a little too young to be marrying someone old enough to be divorced haha

Beautiful, especially that PSL. How did you graft an SVD stock onto the PSL? That's obviously not the normal Romanian stock.

You have no idea how excited i am to have them. Just looking at them brings back the happy feeling of my childhood b-day parties haha.

But this is an old cell phone pic of the group (minus 3, and a few of them were upgraded since)

I occasionally have a guy who repays a debt with a car. By the time I fix them and resell them I lose money or barely break even. I wish he was into guns, it would make bartering much more interesting for me. Nice collection you got there, and nice work on that PSL furniture!

LOL thinking of "Goodfellas" ;).

Great looking hardware (is it me or do the .357's look like the old Colt Pythons?).

Congrats on "the job").

Hey man, don't laugh too hard at it. My closest friend from my HS years married, then divorced her first husband, and started dating the guy that became husband #2 (who she's still happily with 13 years later) before her 22nd birthday.

I was married, had two kids, divorced, and remarried before I was 25.

People grow up and age more quickly nowadays.

I can't get those .357's out of my mind (and I am a semi guy). I haven't felt like this since that last "crush" on some chick I had to "get to know" and, invariably, that always results in money soon to be spent one way or another ;).

Seriously though, I am looking for a .357 that strongly resembles the old Colt Python look (absent the prices I see on gunbroker ). The GP100 looks like a viable option as well but the Taurus 608 appears to beat it price wise and, subjectively speaking, aesthetically.

But I digress...On with the thread!

Nice guns. Need any favors?

I didn't get married until I was 26. I was starting to have trouble finding someone with no ex & no kids. Luckily I did.

It is good you have friends worth helping out. Never hurts to have people truly appreciate what you do. Quality over quantity in friends is always better.
