I know the qualification is required annually.
What is the frequency of the "Legal Update?" I believe it is every 3 years. But have forgotten if it is the 3rd year or every 3 years.
I last took mine in 2002. Is it due THIS year or in 2005?
TIA
I would call the Sheriff's office but they do not take CCW questions.

Just renewed my CA CCW. It's good for 2 years. Mine shows "date of issue" and "expiration date" in the upper right hand corner of the permit.

Yes, it's two years for "peons". It's three if you're a reserve deputy/cop or other "peace officer" who doesn't otherwise have off-duty carry rights (this includes a few oddities such as parole officers and some corrections officers) and it's four years if you're a judge.
They're better than us, don'cha know .

CA CCW's are good for 2 years for us nobodys. BUT.....the legal requirement does not run WITH the license. Oh, no......it requires annual qualification......BUT.....TRI-annual "legal update" class.

That sounds like somthing your specific issuing authority has cooked up.
My authority requires a 1/2 day class every two years. No qualification, just ??? time.
