I traded my (crappy) Remington 770 for a used Mossberg ATR 100 the other day. I love it, much better bolt and feel, and the fluted barrel is nice. I took it out and was shooting today, the fifth round I shot when i closed the bolt the gun went off. So i removed it and the rest of the bullets from the magazine and closed the bolt again and *click* on an empty chamber. So i decided to take the bolt out and look at it but the trigger was stuck. Eventually, it got to where i was able to get the bolt out and the trigger started working again. I fired the rest of my 30+ rounds (with the muzzle consistently pointed downrange obviously) and not a hitch. I'm taking it to a friend with a gunsmith certification tonight, but what could be wrong with it? Is it likely the trigger sear?

Could be a lot of things.

But most likely the trigger needs a good cleaning and a drop of oil here or there.

Unless Bubba the Dremel Tool bandet already ruined it trying to do a trigger job by following these internet instructions without a clue what he was doing.
