I need a set of grips for a S&W 1917 revolver, U.S. military contract.

Numerich is out and a few minutes of Googling hasn't turned up anything except one set of repros. I'd prefer original if at all possible.

I'm willing to trade the commerical grips currently on the gun for the military grips if need be. (But, I'd prefer to just buy a set if possible).

Any leads are appreciated.

Howdy

As you have already discovered, these grips don't grow on trees. And you may be a bit taken aback when you find out the kind of prices that are being paid for vintage S&W N frame grips if you do find any. Trust me on this.

You might try visiting the Smith and Wesson Forum. There are two specific classified sections for items for sale and items shooters are looking for.

Probably about $100-$125 for some nice, but not perfect, original grips.
