To: 70,000,000 law abiding gub owners

When 2% of the population (homosexuals) can alter the political and social landscape, think what 30% of the population can do.

I encourage every gun owner here to make at least one phone call a week or write one email to their elected officials in support of the SA.

Please leave a note here if you do and what state you are from.

I made mine..

E-mail once or twice a week, phone calls every other week, depending on issues, local, state, or Fed.

I'm from Michigan.

I try to do a few things here and there, as I find the time. It's too important not to.

Sungun, you are exactly right. The reason 2% can win is because they are ruthless politically and they are active politically. Most gunowners just sit on their butts and do nothing. Again, order of effectiveness....

1) Letters. Legislators know, that if you took the time to write them, and you cared enough to actually go to the post office and buy a stamp and then use it on this issue, you care enough to support or fight against them if they support or screw you with their vote.

2) Phone calls. Doesn't take as much effort as a letter, but you still spent some money (unless you call toll free) and took the time. And--and this is important--you were bold enough to call up and actually talk to someone. Again, this likely means that you could cause them problems later if they vote against you.

3) E-mails. Better than nothing, but the least effective of the three. Why? Just too darn easy to write and send, and too darn easy to simply delete.
Lobbyists have told me that 1000 e-mails for something are less powerful than 100 letters against the same bill, because of the above-mentioned reasons.

I'm going to make another suggestion..find out when committee hearings on gun issues will be held in your state legislature and attend them..you don't even have to speak (at least here you don't) but if you go up and sign the card, it gets entered into the public record as support.

bfieldburt is spot-on about how effective different means of communication can be.

Folks, do a Google search under (your state) Congressmen. It should give you the address for their Washington office and home office. Write and call BOTH. Doesn't matter if as particular House Rep is not in your district--he/she still represents your state.

Even if MOST gun owners are lazy A$$e$ themselves, an effective minority can change things.

Write - Call - Email. Just do Something
