Short Barrel, decent capacity.

Well, as far as I know, Winchester/US Repeating Arms is the only maker of a lever-action shotgun.

The Winchester 12 and 10 gauge shotguns from the 1890s & early 1900s are expensive collectors items that really shouldn't be shot with modern ammo.

The .410 bore built on the Model 94 frame is the only currently made lever-action shotgun, but it's a .410.

Savage at one time made a .410 barrel that could be fitted to the 1899/99 model rifles, but it was a single shot.

Marlin makes a .410 lever-gun as well.

The Marlin must be new this year. If they made it in 20ga or 12 ga, I'd buy it. Otherwise, my pumps will do.

The 1887 and 190something guns by winchester are nice, but historic pieces really shouldn't be shot with smokeless powders. Last time I checked they retailed for $600-800. Tristar has a repro that is ready for smokeless, but its more expensive than a "real" one. Norinco was coming out with one but the ban hit before they could bring it to market.

I don't know how the ban affects shotgun imports from Communist China, but every recent issue of the Cowboy Chronicle advertises Peoples' Republican Army copies of Winchester '97 pumps and a hammer double, with a Chinese copy of the Winchester '87 lever action Real Soon Now.

Well, I don't know. Can't you shoot a lever with one hand?

"Can't you shoot a lever with one hand?"

Well, sure, if you want to look like an AAAAAHHHHHHNULD Terminator wannabe... :D

To "spin cock" a shotgun or rifle you need to have what's known as a bow lever.

It also needs to have a shorter-than-normal barrel.

When John Wayne was in Stagecoach John Ford wanted him to have a gimic, so someone came up with the bright idea of spinning a rifle instead of a handgun.

No one thought about the barrel length, so the first time that Wayne spun the rifle the muzzle came around, clocked him in the jaw, and knocked him out.

That's why we have bow lever carbines, but no bow lever rifles. :)
