What do you think of the Zeiss Conquest?

I recently bought a Sig 716 and am shopping for a scope. The Zeiss Conquest w/Rapid Z reticle seems appealing.
The Rapid Z comes in 400, 600, 800, 1000 gradations. I'm thinking for the gun/caliber combo, anything above 600 is overkill.
What do you think about the scope and the Rapid Z?
thanx

I recently replaced two Leupold VX-II's with Zeiss Conquests (both 3-9). The application was to gain an additional 0.5" of eye relief on Ruger No. 1's, and get rid of the offset scope rings. The Zeiss statement of 4.0" of eye relief is not exaggerated.
I found the optics to be clear and bright and the Rapid-Z 600 reticle was very close to my handloads for .30-06 w/ 150gr as well as .243 w/ 95gr. The reticle is etched glass, not "wire". Easy to read at distance and does not obscure the target.
The only objection I had was the knurled rubber ring on the occular end, which prevented proper mounting of Butler Creek scope protectors. When the rubber ring was removed, the scope protectors mounted normally.

Fella's;
I own three Conquests, all with the #43 mil-dot reticle, which I by far prefer to any of the rapid-Z reticles. The glass is outstanding, but I find the mil-dot system works much better for me.

It's the best low light level scope i've ever looked through!

DM. Outstanding looking rifle. What is it/caliber, etc?

The "dot" sometimes obscures my long range target picture. The rapid-z looked to be more precise. That's not your experience? Have you tried the rapid-z?

The high powered rifle bbl. is chambered in 8x57JRS. I load 200NP's at 2,550fps, and i've put everything from moose and bear on down to deer and all kinds of small game in the freezer with it.
