for those who responded to my .357 or .38 model 14 target i solved it today.

ran into a ak-47 freak who turned me on to a pawn shop upone visiting i found a model 15 that caught my eye.

grooved target trigger and hammer with pachmar grips

$169+tx $180 out the door.

not all that bad a finish but the trigger is way smooth.

Range report on Mon.

cheers

Great buy, Bill. Good luck with your new gun. I buy alot from pawn shops. I have had nothing but good luck out of them. It certainly depends on the owner though.:)

Ah, the Combat Masterpiece. One of the wonderous line of K-frame .38s by S&W...

I don't have one.

I need one.

I now have a new mission. :)

Cool.

I have an early-70s vintage Model 15 that I got about six years ago. Fabulous gun -- smoooooth action and accurate.

Does yours have the lightweight or bull barrel? Mine has the LW.

I had one at one time that was worked on by BOB CHOW of S.F.,It had one of the smoothest action I ever had .:)

The Mod. 15 is one of the best, if not the best, of the 'pure' .38's. Even with the standard (non-bull) barrel, it's deadly accurate, and the action is, in a word, silky.

Bob Chow's work was amazing at making them even better, though. What every DA should be, at least for target work. He could probably work the same magic on any K or N frame, though. The one gun I saw he did was a M 19 PPC gun. WOW! Almost a religious experience to pull it through.

Welli finally got out shooting Sat. Cold dreary day about 38 cloudy and standing in a puddle of mud water to keep my feet nice and cool.

The pistol has an incredible action. shooting single action was always a suprise, sighting on the target placing your finger on the trigger and then Boom muzzle flip.

The outdoor range i shoot at the first berm is 25 yards out and it kinda got boring hitting things there. The guy next to me had put a small TV im guessing an 18" but i was hitting it 6/6 with double action. Im used to hitting stuff like that with my Ruger .22 but this is my first wheel gun and i love it.

I burned through 100 shells as fast as i could load them and was lookng around to see if anybody had a box to spare.

Thanks for the advice.

Oh and by the way it is a heavy barrel version. Nice and big and black, Looks like a pistol should look.

Cheers

Man, Bill I'm jealous. Sounds like a great price. It is a great gun. I'm glad you like it- if you ever get bored with it...
