I had picked up this model 66 a few weeks ago that was in excellent mechanical condition but rather rough cosmetic condition. It was wearing a Hogue monogrip when I bought it. Anyway, I had a credit with my local 'smith so I had him do a full teardown and bead-blast. Added a nice target grip and picked her up today.

Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I kinda like her this way, nice enough to share a couple pictures with friends at any rate :)

I like the looks. I do wonder if it tends to be a bit more difficult to clean?

It's different, but your right, not my cup of tea.

That may be pretty difficult to get carbon deposits and staining off of it.

Good luck with it.

Gives it a kind of "utility" look. Like an old truck in primer.

To clean my bead-blasted Ruger GP100 I usually just douse it with Remoil spray and let it set a bit. Most of the residue not on the cylinder face comes off pretty easily then.

"Battleship Grey".....I kinda like it !! (BTW, not 10 minutes ago, I grabbed my beloved 66-no dash to investigate the dog barking on the back porch.)

I like it. :)
My smithy do a bead blast on my Security Six a few months ago.

Very nice. I'm a fan of grey Parkerizing, and this has a similar look, if a bit brighter. Need to pick me up an S&W Victory some day.

I like it, in a sort of no-frills utilitarian way.

Not my cup of tea, but it is a nice gun.
