What are you wearing these days?
Picking up my SR1911 this weekend (my first 1911) and naturally can think of little else. I see there's an IWB thread below, but I generally prefer wearing on my belt. Curious about what brand/style folks prefer.

When/where will you be wearing the gun? CC? Open? Hunting? All of the above?

Everywhere the law allows. Generally carry a Glock 20 as backup when hunting, though.

When I carried a 1911 my three OWB holsters were--
Rafter S "Avenger" style
Bianchi, think it is the Silhouette, that has the thumb break
Also used the Safariland ALS 6377 when open carrying.

Milt Sparks Summer Special II. Simple, thin, easy to get on and off, can ride in many positions, excellent retension, conceals very well even under light clothing, and doesn't take up much space on your belt.

I have a few custom rigs that are perfect. The gun clicks in like kydex but without the thumb break its an awesome draw.

For OWB, Kramer Belt Scabbard in horsehide or a Galco Concealable, both open top, no thumbreak, high-rise pancakes. For IWB, Milt Sparks Summer Special or VM-II, Kramer IWB #3. MS SS and the Kramer are similar, the VM-II probably the most comfortable ... For hunting, the Kramer Vertical Scabbard is awesome.

Mostly a Fobus Paddle, sometimes a Tagua paddle, and rarely a Galco Yaqui

The only time I carry OWB is when I am in cold weather with no likelihood of disrobing my heavy coat. I use a Serpa.

I don't carry the 1911 too often anymore, but when I do it is in this.

For street CCW a Milt Sparks EX Companion. For CCW while working inside a store/office environment I prefer something more comfortable like the Milt Sparks 1AT.
