Will penetrating oil remove the finish on a blued firearm barrel?
I am trying to remove something from a barrel and the gunsmith could NOT get it out on a barrel vice?
I was also going to use it on my Ruger 10/22 to pull out the barrel. I cannot get it to budge.

If a smith can't get it out, I would assume you need a better smith or it can't be done; one of the two...
I use Kroil on blued firearms and have never had any issues with it damaging the finish.
What are you trying to remove?

I'm trying to remove the barrel trunnion from a Kel Tec Sub2000. The trunnion is to big to fit in his machine.

You seem to have a duplicate post here about a Ruger 10/22 barrel.

Screw it. I took a30 minute drive to Kel Tec and asked that they do it.
If the gunsmith couldn't do it with a barrel vice and locking jaws I can probably not do it period.

On my 10/22 nearly a 1/4 bottle of penetrating oil (fixers wrench or mechanics wrench brand...whatever it is) and NOTHING.
Then I learned they make 10/22 barrel pulling devices. I'll jsut buy one of those.
