:banghead:When I go to the 642 club thread there in no "POST A THREAD" it's there when I go to the Revolver thread. But when I try to enter a post the moderator tells me it should go in the 642club thread. So how do I get the NEW THREAD logo to come up on the 642 club page?????

Do you want to start a new thread, or simply post a reply (and participate) in the existing 642 club thread?

You ought to see a post reply button in the regular thread.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your desire.

Go to the 642 thread and go to the last page of that thread. At the bottom of the page you will see a box saying "Post Reply" click on that and go from there.

Ted,

The way the admins here have the V Bulletin software configured there are no sub threads. There are just full threads within each sub forum of the overall THR forum. I think that's worked well to keep the forum looking pretty clean and easy to read.

In most cases you would simply start a new thread within the appropriate sub forum. The 642 Club thread is an anomaly that's worked though. There's so much quality information on the S&W J Frames in that thread that it's probably easier to manage that way (in my non-moderator observation). It consolidates the J Frame snubbie knowledge base here very well (again, in my observation). Because of those factors I'm making a semi-educated assumption that in this unique case (J Frame snubbies in general, 642 in particular) the mods have requested that you simply ask your questions as replies in the 642 Club thread rather than fracture the knowledge base with separate threads.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Most of us Mods do not like "club" threads as there is a lot of "club" banter which detracts from the amount of information given. Our 642 threads have an immense amount of info and we have allowed this one to be on it's 3rd iteration. ugaarguy also hit the nail on the head.

I see you also have two aliases there Ted...
That can also become confusing since you started the thread with one and answered with another.

Not sure about two aliases, I need to start the thread I sign with my ID Name and when I finish I sign Ted! short for Tahitian.Ted. Is that what you mean? I did not think that was confusing.
