Sights Paint

Hi. I'm relatively new to this site & a newbie with handguns in many ways. I have a CZ 75B that I love, but I would like to find some sight paint that is a little more visible for this old blind guy. Perhaps something fluorescent. Any suggestions?

Nail polish.
Clean your front sight, apply super bright nail polish. Let dry, and apply something to protect it if you wish. I did this with one of my guns, without anything over it, and it's held up great, and I pick up my front sight way faster. I think I used highlighter red or something. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

Testors model paint is more durable than some paints, and the company make FLUORESCENT colors that really work well in bright and medium-to-low light conditions.
The key is to get several bottles (white, green, yellow and red) and mix up colors that suit your tastes. With several bottles, your supply will last forever. Mix up a small amount, and use a toothpick to apply the paint.
(You may have to go to a hobby shop to find the Fluorescent paint, as it's not generally found in the stores that also sell models and model paints along with other items, like Target or Wal-Mart.)

Model paint in fluorescent orange covered by my wife's clear nail polish. Hard surface and bright as they come. :)

Do you guys prefer just on front sight or rear too?

+1 on nail polish. It's available in bright colors at the local Walmart. I've actually settled on a "pearl white" for the front sight and florescent orange for the rear.

Step One whether you're using nail polish or Testors is to have an oil free surface. This means a heavy Q-Tip scrubbing with isopropyl alcohol. Do not drink this during the cleaning process. :)
I'm a fan of white paint on the front sight with black rear sights. I find the front sight simply says HELLO!! when it gets within vision.

I just went through this same issue. Went to WalMart and in the fabric/home craft section found FolkArt acrylic phosphorescent paint, 2fl oz $1.92. Bought 1 bottle ea. of Orange, Lime Green & HOT Pink. Also, I got one bottle of clear GEL nail polish (my daughter told me it's indestructible & setting me up), and two little craft paint brushes, one pointed the other about 3/16" wide to apply the paints. I tried various combinations and settled on Hot Pink on the rear and Lime Green on the front blade. Talk about contrast and the stuff actually glows though nothing like tritium. I have a lifetime supply of this stuff and only spent $12.00 (my daughter promptly confiscated the polish like she worked for the gov't). I'm going to buy more nail polish, not telling my daughter, and do some other guns.

I bought some high-vis paint specifically marketed for guns. It was only $10 and came with three glow in the dark colors and three floresant colors. It's lasted ten years and I've recently started putting it on the dept. shotgun sights. I just charged up the sights on my Beretta 92 and they still glow.
However I like the model paint idea better since it's cheaper.

I've used nail polish on several front sights. Works well, is cheap if you just raid the wifes' side of the bathrrom counter and can be re-applied easily if and when needed.
I have seen people use Testors with good results, though, and wouldn't knock it as a good choice.

Sounds as though a good alternative would be a Fluorescent (Testor's) paint covered by a clear nail polish. Sounds almost indestructible. (I have tried the Testors and nail polish separately, but not together.)
The Testor's is so easily (and cheaply) replaced, I never worried about durability.

I use Testors white on all my CZs! Be sure to dig the CZ yellow out of the sight dimples with a pick first. Gives you a pocket to apply paint in, dip your toothpick in:)

http://www.siteglo.com. Their stuff really holds up and is very visible; once it fully hardens you'd have to try very, very hard to remove it. It's only available in one color, though.

I'm tossing my hat in with the nail polish. The stuff is durable and free if you do it when your wife isn't looking. I'm just glad my wife and daughter like the REALLY BRIGHT COLORS.
