Hello,
I have been looking at a possible dove duck combo hunt in Argentina. The dove are a pest and the duck are plentyful because they are not really hunted there. They limit your daily duck bag to 50 birds per gun that can be extended a little if you shoot on one of the guide's tag.
Have any of you done this, I mean the duck part? Do you get to eat a few? What do they do with the rest of the birds?

Wow, 50 bird limit...and without steel shot regs. That would be cool, but I might get tired of duck hunting at THAT rate.

Last few years i've been getting into the dove action really heavy up near Waco. Well, I get in to 'em every year up there, but last several have been outstanding. Just shooting 15 bird limits my shoulder gets sore...with a 20 gauge! I don't know how I could possibly handle an Argentina hunt. I guess I'd just have to buy a 28 gauge. Not sure how I could afford that much ammo in 20 gauge, though, let alone 28! Anyway, the good dove hunting here has convinced me I probably ain't man enough for Argentina. ROFL

I have not hunted in Argentina but I hunt with several people who have. The places they went usually had packages of duck hunting for a couple of hours in the morning and then perdiz hunting (like quail hunting) or dove shooting in the afternoon. The food was so fabulous that they ate beef dishes mainly and never ate a duck there. They were duck shooting to collect specimens of different species for mounting. I never heard any of them mention shooting 50/day - doves sure! Over 200/day for one guy but not ducks. Maybe it's possible but not enough time was allotted to duck hunting to get that many. The price was in the $3500 range for a 3-4 day hunt plus a half day in Buenos Aires upon arrival and departure.
