2000 Marines may go to Haiti.

Does anyone know how many troops we have abroad and how many at home?

Not enough in my opinion.

Clinton eviscerated the military.

Al Gore proudly points to the fact that his administration "cut the size of the government"

The thing he WON"T tell you is that the "cut" was military personnel, not the bloated buraucratic establishment found around the Beltway.

I finished out my long, illustrious Navy career during the Clinton Administration, and I can tell you that although our force numbers declined dramatically, the USE of the military increased under Clinton.

No wonder so many folks decided to bail out rather than be in a state of constant deployment.
