Just got my first revolver, a Smith "L" frame 686+ 3" and am looking for pics of revolvers with "Boot Grips" on them to help me decide which ones to get.

Anyone willing to help a poor soul out with some pics?? :D

Let me know the maker as well, please.

Christopher

Scroll down, boot grips on the bottom. Brownell's has them as we'll with quicker delivery.

I already bought the Ahrends, but will likely purchase the Eagle grips as well.

Sorry dont have boots on my L-frame as I like the ahrends round butt combat grip better. it still conceales well and gives my pinky purchase on the grip.

Same here for the Ahrends. No boots but these work nicely on my N frame .45..........

I made a couple of sets of
boot grips "from the material S&W provided on the revolvers. Here is a set I used on a 4" 686.

They worked well on duty and in competition. The L frames have all gone down the road but I saved the grips and use them on other revolvers.

If you want nice wood - Kim Ahrends. If you want rubber - Hogue. Having a place to rest your pinky is a very good thing. I've played with radically chopped and bobbed grips and they conceal very well but make it more difficult to draw and obtain a correct hold if you have to move fast. I will give up some concealability to have a solid hold. My carry piece is a S&W 696. I used Hogue Bantam grips for a while but they were very fat and too short. I went back to the old Hogue Monogrip. I think that the more hand you get on the gun the better you will be able to draw and hit with it.

Crimson trace Lg-306 boot grips on an L-frame S&W 296. Lg-405 on the 442 J frame.

In my opinion, open backstraps save space, but increase the hammer-like smack on your hand, haha!

Thanks All.

Reason I am asking is I am considering a set, however the part of me that needs aesthetic pleasing needs to see some on a pistol. Ahrend's and Badger's sites do not have pics of pistols with the grips installed.

Keep them coming.

You didn't see the pictures posted in 3 and 4 above? Those are Ahrends.

Sure look like handguns in the Ahrend's link.

Both posts above show Combat grips not boot grips as both posters stated. The pics on the Ahrends site only show the grip to the back of the cylinder, not the whole pistol.
