For all you folks that wanted traditional folders with some more modern features, Case has several new one-hand opening thumb stud equipped folders in their lineup now. Some even come with pocket clips!

I was visiting with the folks at Kinney Surgical Services (http://www.kinneysurgical.com/) (sharpening) the other day and they'd put in a bid display of Case knives and I pointed out to Sean that Case had thumb stud / pocket clip versions of some of their more popular models. He got excited enough to put in an order for some!

That would be more perfect if it had a liner lock.

I think it does. The "TrapperLock" is a locking liner mechanism.

Blackhawk30,

Do they need larger or "better" thumb studs. What would improve the one-hand opening for them?

I've got one of the older Trapperlocks w/o the pocket clip. I may need to pick up a new one with that feature.

Case knives were too tight out-of-the-box.That is what made them hard to open. They are folding hunters. One is a Ruger logoed and the other is a Case Brothers.

I'm supprised, my Trapperlock (linerlock) is very easy to open. In fact, I've probably got over a dozen different Case folders and the only one that was hard to open or close was a new Copperlock (lockback) that I bought. It took a while to get reasonably easy to open and even not is still somewhat stiff but from what I have heard talking to other Case owners, mine was not typical.

A hybrid!

I like that and hope they get some locally. My biggest issue with most trappers is the size feeling like I've got a brick in my pocket.
