The one pistol that you regret not buying!

Dear THR:
Which is the one pistol that got away and you regret not buying it. For me its a rare 93R -a fully legal and transferable where I am (out of the USA). Apart from that I pretty much got around to buying whatever I missed at one time or the other.
What about you?
Regards

Two P-08 German 9 MM Lugers in 1962 for $30 each. They were WW II era new still in cosmoline. Both had Nazi markings.
I also regret selling/trading one converted to .22 also in the early 60s.

A Browning BDA in .38 Super.
When they came out back in the late 70's/early 80's, the .45 version was a decent seller; the .38 Super and 9mm. versions not so much so. I don't think they even imported that many of them because they were single stack designs.

A guy at a gunshow had a pair of Llama mini-1911 pistols, with 2-3 magazines each
One in .22lr, one in .32acp - both in good shape
They would have made wonderful toys, I didn't realize that the guy had a good price on them because that was in my pre-smartphone days ... I should have haggles a bit and bought bo'f'um on the spot

An FM M90 "Detective" model. In four years of looking for this short-barrelled, Argentine-made version of the BHP, it was the first--and only--one I've ever seen in the flesh. I bought a M1903 Colt Pocket Hammerless in .32 ACP instead (the prices were virtually the same for the two guns, and I only had money for one).

Couple years back, had a chance to buy a (reputedly) new in the box, unfired (and on close examination, looked it) nickel finish Colt's Series 70 ... for $700. Like a fool, I had to go home and sleep on it ... Of course, the next day, I decided to buy it. Gone, baby, gone ... (heavy sigh)

Can't think of one right away, but if you swap it around...one I'm glad I bought even though I hadn't planned to and didn't need it, was a virtually unfired stainless CZ-75B on consignment in a store I frequent. Darn near stole it for the consigned price, and I bet half the guys in that store wonder how I beat them to it! Then again, they're all pretty young guys, and they all carry polymer pistols, so they might not have known what it was.
Oh, wait---a really nice West German PPK in .380 last weekend at a show, private sale for $375. Probably had a million rounds through it, but it sure was pretty. If it had been blue in 2/3 as good condition, it'd be mine. Still kind of wish I'd plunked down the dosh though.

I have no real "the one that got away." For the most part I've snatched up anything I really wanted or found a deal just too good to pass on. I do have a few minor regrets though. I regret not buying a Dan Wesson 1911 before the prices really jumped on them. There was also a Sig 1911 at a local gun shop for a real bargain. I though on it for a day too long and it was gone when I went back. They other two I wish I would have bought when they were much more available were the colt pony and the colt pocket nine. But I always I kind of liked their looks and now they are out of production.
I can still get all of them of course it will just cost me a few hundred dollars more for each.
My biggest "regrets" are probably not being old enough to be able to be assertive in getting some of the family guns when people passed. Now I have to hope to get them back from relatives and hope they don't just sale them to whoever.

There are alot of pistols I wish I'd grabbed that were gone when I went back.
A couple of them:

CZ75 pre "B" model for $350.

It was about 1989 I think. County auction and there was a blued Colt Python there. Not pristine but I'd say about 85-90%. Auctioneer worked and worked to get the $275 it sold for.... Didn't have to cash on me and when I called my dad he said... well I won't repeat what he said .. but I would have had the money had I asked...
There was also a '03 Springfield at a gun show one time guy was walking around with, went for $180 in great shape. Seen it and figured I would ask later.... bad move...

Ruger Old Army, SS, 7.5" w/ adjustable sights, just felt right in my hand and I was mightily tempted. Went back & forth between that & a 5.5" SS Bisley Vaquaro in .45LC and went with the Vaquaro. It was a very good gun, but I never grew to like it & it was gone in a year or so. That OA is the only gun I've ever regreted not buying.

-Ruger Single Six .22/22mag stainless $225

Back in the 60s, you could buy guns mail order. The famous Kleins in Chicago used to run ads in all the gun magazines. S&W or Colt US MILITARY 1917 revolvers were $27 dollars. Broom handle mousers were $35 and Springfield 03a3s ran about $25. Webley 45s were $17 and I bought my first M1 Carbine through the DCM for $17. My Dad bought a NM 1911 for $87. Those were the days, but then gas was only .17 gal, (premium) and minimum wage was 1.25.

I have one that I got before it was too late: a S&W M&P 15-22 Pistol.
I had it on my list of wants last year, then I found out it was no longer being manufactured. I went to the gun store the next day and bought it. As I was walking out I said "BTW, these have been discontinued."
They sold their other two within a month, and you can't find them new anymore. It is really fun (though sort of useless). I've taken it shooting a few times, and for some of my friends it has been their favorite firearm.

About 6 months back a guy was walking around a local gun show. He had a Colt Delta Elite in 10mm, box and all the paperwork. He was asking 800$. I passed thinking "Eh, I already have a G29 and I don't like 1911's much..."

Only a handful really 'got away'.
I could have bought a Colt King Cobra for $425ish in a consignment case, went back a couple days later with cash GONE. LGS owner told me "just so you know next time I will take a deposit for anything in the case."
I never thought to ask that of a gun shop. lesson learned. Ask.

Back in the late 80's (or early 90's, I don't remember) a local gun shop was going out of business, selling off their remaining stock for their cost. They had a Colt Delta Elite in 10mm (is that redundant?), just sitting there, that I had looked at before and the next time I went they were closed for good.

If I had the money, I'm not sure I could walk away from that one. I mean, if you had the cash you could have just paid it off the same day, or at the end of the month and not even paid any interest on it!
I have sort of a half regret. When I bought my first pistol, I bought a Sigma in 9mm instead of a Glock 19. While I like the Sigma, I wish I would have gotten the Glock, but only for the fact that Holster shopping would have been easier, and mags are half the price.
