I'm looking to decorate my den in a WW2 or Korean War theme and would like to hang a few belts of dummy 30.06 rounds over my desk. Can anyone here recommend me any means by which I could buy unloaded/empty cloth ammunition belts for the M1919 (in other words, the forerunner feeding system before disintegrating belts links)?

Also, another problem is that I live overseas in South East Asia. To the best of your combined knowledge, does the BATFE classify cloth cartridge belts a restricted item?

Try bmgparts.com, also ironcreationsllc.com also ima.com for a selection of sizes and colors. I'm not sure about the export laws. They are, after all, cloth items.
