Ironhorse522 September 26, 2012, 11:34 PM I just picked on up a while ago since I finally got rid of my glock model 22. Anyway last two weekend I have put almost 400 rounds threw it without a single malfunction. Although the first da trigger pull leaves something to be desired, I'm getting used to it. The main problem is lack of aftermarket goodies. I haven't been able to find a good holster, and mags are 40+ bucks!!

Tommygunn September 26, 2012, 11:35 PM I love my 9mm. SP 2022!!!!! For its price it has a very nice triggerpull. It's a very nice gun overall though maybe a tad big for CCW.
Ironhorse522 September 26, 2012, 11:49 PM I have the 40! Even though it's polymer frame the muzzle flip isn't too bad
Mr.357Sig September 27, 2012, 12:12 AM Hell yeah! I bought mine for less than $500 new with factory night sights. It's got a great trigger, it's easy to field strip and is extremely well-balanced.
I bought it for a combat pistol class. The first time I pulled the trigger was on a timed 12-shot drill at 7-yards. Nailed all three steel plates four times each. Put 1,500 rounds through it in 2 days. Not a single FTF/FTE.

She's a great gun.
Mr.357Sig September 27, 2012, 12:20 AM Here are some holsters for the 2022:

http://www.rgrizzleleather.com/about.html
viper7342 September 27, 2012, 12:23 AM I have one in 9mm with Night Sights, the only DA/SA pistol I currently own, it has the smoothest DA pull I've ever felt on any pistol and a crisp SA pull as well.
Okiegunner September 27, 2012, 12:25 AM I think that they are probably one of the best value purchases out there.
I have one of the "old school" LEO pistols. The Sig 2340 (.40), former stste police pistol. The trigger is so good that I questioned whether the state armorer had done some trigger work.
I have tried my best to make this pistol fail. Have run the cheapest, most blunt nose .40 out there. Never a hiccup. Wish I had one in 9mm.
2022 should be every bit as good.
Ironhorse522 September 27, 2012, 12:32 AM I honestly have been on the fence for a long time about these polymer frame guns. I owned a glock 22 (40) didn't like it at all . Sold it and bought my first sig never looked back, never will own a glock again
TarDevil September 27, 2012, 12:38 AM The 2022 is on my wish list!
Ehtereon11B September 27, 2012, 04:38 AM It is on my wishlist as well but I have heard great things about the Sig Pro series. Personally I like them much more than any Glock so you made a good upgrade in my opinion.
sigarms228 September 27, 2012, 12:12 PM The SP2022 is a great pistol. If I could only afford to buy one pistol and had only $450 to spend it would be the SP2022. It is also the gateway drug for SIG.

Destructo6 September 27, 2012, 03:09 PM a good holster, and mags are 40+ bucks
Go to ebay for "SIG 2340" .40 S&W mags. Take a look at the 10-rnd versions above, then compare them to what is pictured.
I bought 3 12-rnd versions for about $40, shipped. I see one of those deals now for $51. I was leery, but they are the real deal.
Captcurt September 27, 2012, 03:22 PM I don't own one but have shot both the 9 and the 40 and sold several. Never had one come back. Best buy in a Sig unless you want to spend twice the bucks.
JTQ September 27, 2012, 05:09 PM I'm neither a big Sig fan or much of a polymer fan, but the few times I've handled these at the gun store or gun show they have felt pretty good and the price is certainly attractive.
One of the knocks against Sigs is often their need for lots of lube, and especially the need for grease ( http://grayguns.com/lubrication-of-sig-sauer-pistol-rails/ ) since the steel slide is riding on an aluminum frame. The P2022, with the short steel rails seems like a solution to what could be considered a shortcoming in the standard Sig P-Series pistols.
How about a .45ACP version?
nwilliams September 27, 2012, 09:27 PM IMO the SP2022 is the best deal on the market for the price. They are reliable, accurate, ergonomic and at under $400 brand new it's hard to find anything to complain about.
Ironhorse522 September 27, 2012, 10:38 PM Where you getting them at under 400 new?
Ehtereon11B September 28, 2012, 12:43 AM Pretty much everywhere. MSRP of a new Sig Pro is $494 and most places will knock it off to less than $400. If I see a SP2022 go for above $450 I will be looking for nifty bells and whistles like night sights or threaded barrels.
Captcurt September 28, 2012, 10:32 AM Ehtereon is right. I have sold the plain jane for under $400. The tritiums and lasers go for about $450.
nwilliams September 28, 2012, 10:29 PM Where you getting them at under 400 new?
I've seen them advertised online for as low as $389. At the shop I work at we sell them for $429+tax.
1SOW September 28, 2012, 10:52 PM I shoot a 239. I introduced my neighbor to it, and he went shopping.
He came home with the 9mm 2022 and invited me to go shoot with him. I was impressed with the trigger, accuracy and moderate recoil. Nice pistol.
The only thing I didn't like was the tear-down & reassembly procedure"s". YGTBKM. :-)
Rule3 September 29, 2012, 11:15 AM I picked up a "used" absolutely like new with night sights and 2 mags for a price I will not tell you:D
Being a Sig fan with several of their real guns, this Polymer version is about the best deal going that I can see. It's all Sig and shoots almost as well as the P 226, lets say as well as!
It's a great gun!
Arkansas Paul September 29, 2012, 11:28 AM Loving mine in .40. Best $399.00 I've spent in a while. Eats anything I feed it.

Here's a couple fo holster options for the SP2022 with the 1913 Picatinny rail:
Bianchi Evader. This holster rides high and tight to the body. It's easy to draw from, but it takes a little finessing to re-holster. A good OWB choice for concealed carry.

And the Blackhawk Serpa.

Ironhorse522 September 29, 2012, 01:46 PM Does anybody else have the two dot sights? One dot above another?
The_Armed_Therapist September 29, 2012, 01:58 PM I bought a few at $299 about a year ago. I didn't have a need for a new pistol at the time, so I ended up selling them. I fell in love with them, though. I think they are fantastic! They fit my hand perfectly.
silversport September 29, 2012, 05:24 PM Does anybody else have the two dot sights? One dot above another?
Von Stavenhagen sights...I have them on my earlier SiG Pros...a 2009 and a 2340 in 357 SiG...many original P Series had them...
Bill
Micro September 29, 2012, 05:32 PM My gun has the 2-dot contrast sights.

Ironhorse522 September 29, 2012, 07:39 PM I like them a lot
davewil37 September 30, 2012, 07:23 AM I picked my 2022 in 9mm up new for $399 with night sights. And you can get Mec-Gar mags for around $25 each and they hold 2 extra rounds.
Dave
Shuler13 September 30, 2012, 07:35 AM PSA had em for $349 for a while, but that ship has sailed.
I agree with the sentiment here. Well built. Great value. I loved the trigger and shoot very accurately with it.
Captcurt September 30, 2012, 09:56 AM Does anybody else have the two dot sights? One dot above another?
Got one in the store, but like the three dot better.
The_Armed_Therapist September 30, 2012, 01:08 PM PSA had em for $349 for a while, but that ship has sailed.
It's very interesting how the price of these things has risen over the last year or two. Like I said, I bought two for $299 each. Sure, that was a steal even then, but no one will find them for that low anymore. I couldn't believe at the time that the P250s were more than the 2022s. You couldn't get me to buy a 250, but the 2022s just seemed like a polymer version of what made Sig so popular. I think the 2022s cost more than the 250s now... (I think... It's been a while since I've price-shopped)
David White September 30, 2012, 01:35 PM I bought my SP2022 9mm for 399 out the door. It was a nice gun but I wanted a .40 cal and the Sig was an impulse buy.
I put a couple hundred rounds through it them I traded it for a NIB Ruger SR40 and have been happy since!
Walking Dead September 30, 2012, 08:50 PM Love mine in 9mm. Here is how I carry it.

metalart September 30, 2012, 11:46 PM @ironhorse I got mine for 379 new with sig nitesights on sale at carter's country..
Ironhorse522 October 1, 2012, 07:04 PM Shoot I got ripped at bass pro in pearland . I'm heading to Carter's country hopefully next paycheck they have a nice marlin 30-30 I want, don't need but want.
Shuler13 October 2, 2012, 09:56 AM Where you getting them at under 400 new?
Palmetto state armory website has them for $359 right now
GCMkc October 2, 2012, 07:48 PM Palmetto state armory website has them for $359 right now
CDNN Sports has them at $399 too, but just in 9mm.
My SP2022 shoots great and hasn't had any malfunctions during use. I was lucky to find an all German SP2022 with, Ilaflon finish, nights sights, and two mags for $450 second hand. Definitely one of my favorite pistol purchases. Good entry level SIG.
jackblack86 October 2, 2012, 07:59 PM I have one of the "old school" LEO pistols. The Sig 2340 (.40), former stste police pistol. The trigger is so good that I questioned whether the state armorer had done some trigger work
I have the same gun took it on trade came with both 357 and 40 barrel. most accurate pistol I have ever shot seems to have a natural point of aim for me.
Ironhorse522 October 2, 2012, 09:16 PM I 100% agree with you jack black, I've spent most of my trigger time on old s&w revolvers like my model 29-3 and SA autos like the high power or 1911's. But I have been hearing my sisters boyfriend talking about his sigs so figured why not go get me one of these new fangled sigs. I then picked up my sig p2022 very nice in the hand looks sexy. The grips seem smaller and more ergonomic than any glock I have held.
holdencm9 October 2, 2012, 11:30 PM I have never fired one but from handling and dry firing one, if they are even remotely accurate and reliable (which it sounds like they are) then they are a phenomenal deal. I almost picked one up from PSA when they had free shipping just for the heck of it, but decided against it. I already have a DA/SA range gun, from my perspective the SP2022 seemed a bit large for carry, so I am leaning toward an M&P 9c instead, although in my magic 8-ball I can see a SP2022 in my distant future, just to add to the collection. They do look and feel nice.
And yeah as Shuler said, PSA has them for $359 (http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/firearms/handguns/sig-sauer-sp2022-pro-9mm.html)
Although with shipping and FFL transfer fee, you might be able to find one cheaper at your LGS.
Ironhorse522 October 3, 2012, 05:18 PM I don't think it's too big for everyday carry, or weigh too much for everyday carry. I've just been carrying in my truck
Teachu2 October 4, 2012, 12:43 AM I bought a 9mm with factory night sights. I avoided 9mm and polymer frames until this year, and went a little nuts when I decided to add the caliber. I bought a G34, a LC9, a M&P 9c, and the 2022. They each have their strengths, and the trigger on the 2022 is what attracted me to buy one. I wanted a SA 9mm, but here in CA, unicorns are easier to find. It's the only DA/SA I currently own.
The wife and I enjoy shooting it. It has become our nightstand gun, with a TLR-1 mounted on the rail. Recoil is like a .22 with the extra weight up front. and I can easily operate the light with my trigger finger.
Aftermarket products specificly designed for it are a bit sparse. Figuring out what will actually work with it can be challenging - but after a bit of research, I was able to find 10 rd mags at discount online. It only comes with one mag. The box is cardboard - but the Sig plastic boxes are awful anyway.
It's a nice gun, a good shooter, and a great value. It's been flawless in operation, accurate, and I believe it will hold up well. It's still getting broken in, and I'm still getting used to it, but it is a quality gun.
I carry a G30, after three decades of carrying 6" N frames and 5"1911s, so the size doesn't bother me. I won't carry it, though, as I only get ten rounds in the mag here in CA, so they might as well be .45acp. If I need small, the LC9 does the job. For a range gun, the 2022 is good, but my G34 qualifies for GSSF, so I shoot it more. The wife loves her M&P 9c, so that's what she shoots. It's still a keeper, just 'cuz I like quality guns.
Ironhorse522 October 4, 2012, 01:05 AM Any good lights for under a hundred for my siggy?
Fishbed77 October 4, 2012, 09:20 AM PSA had em for $349 for a while, but that ship has sailed.
When I walked into one of their brick & mortar storea about 2 weeks ago (to buy a Colt XSE!), they had them for $349.
