Aaah! This is all wrong.

We were at war with Iraq. We stayed our offensive unless they accounted for what we told them they could not have. They wanted to play games and depend upon their money ties to France and Germany to save Saddam. Saddam was on probation and Kindly Uncle Saddam violated his probation and he was sentenced.

The New Barbary pirates have declared war on us. Wiping them and their allied regimes in Syria, Iran, The Sudan, and Saudi Arabia from the face of the Earth is not preemption. It is the correct response via counterstroke, not preemption.

We have been here before. We have won. We will win this time (if we possess the will--iffy proposition to be certain as most want comfort over victory).

Right, AQ cells in Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and the PI. They would fade away tomorrow if the money from Saudi Arabia and Iran dried up. All the more reason to kill these people while we are in position.
