Best carry options for a 6'' pistol

My 380 auto just slips into my jeans pocket. Can't do it with my .22 pistol. What holster or other device will make the easiest concealed carry possible?

Well, first you'd have to say what gun you're wishing to carry. Otherwise "a holster" is about the best advice you're going to get.
And this is a .22 you want to carry concealed? Most holsters for .22s tend to be "field" style or what I think of as utility holsters (cheap nylon rigs) as pretty few people carry a .22 for defensive purposes -- certainly not a large one. (Maybe a super-sub-compact mouse-gun auto or micro-revolver in a pocket.)

Sorry, it's a S&W 422. Not going to carry it for self defence, I also don't carry my 380 auto that much either as it's not allowed at my work unfortunately. But I would like to carry the 422 while doing my rounds on a farm. I do not really have to conceal it, but I don't want to go all John Wayne as well:)

Do you use a pocket holster? They really help keep the gun oriented properly for ease of draw.

There are numerous options for belt or shoulder carry of a S&W J-Frame like yours. Personally, I would probably go with a OWB (outside the waistband) pancake style holster

My 6" GP 100 is almost concealed by my jacket tail when I carry it in my Bianchi molded nylon holster. It keeps it very close to the body. I wouldn't carry it for actual concealed carry, but it makes it a lot less obtrusive to just have a little bit if a black holster sticking out under my coat than a 6" Stainless revolver out in the open. Still a very fast draw.

Don't know if they have one for your gun, but you can check with the hunter company. They have a VersaFit Holster that may work.

Not a 442. A 422.

D'oh!
That probably limits you a bit more in holster selection. I guess I'd look at Hunter Holsters and see if they have a simple field holster for the 422, or perhaps a flap holster if you prefer that style.

You'd think S&W would have learned by now not to use model numbers/names that could be easily confused, transposed, or ambiguously duplicative...wait, what am I saying?

There are a bunch of iwb holsters that clip over your pants with the clip then hooking under your belt. Wear it with a shirt over it or tucked in behind it so the grip is exposed.
There are a number of Galco's done in fairly thin rough leather that are set up this way. They don't cost too much but they are rugged and secure.

Simply Rugged makes working holsters that give lots of options for carry, IWB, OWB or crossdraw or even a chest rig all with the same holster if you want. They make their model the Cuda that's listed as available for an S&W 422.
