Local guy has one for sale, new, unfired he says, one magazine. It's the kind I'm looking for (square trigger guard, adjustable sights). He's asking $550. What do you guys think? Any feedback on this model? Anything I should be looking out for? He lives like 30 minutes away, so I plan on going to check it out asap.

I have seen 645's go for about 500.00 (45acp).
Haven't seen a 1st gen 9 in quite a while so not sure if its above normal or not?
One things for certain thou, its out of production and less and less will be available as time goes one.

You are paying a premium for the Stainless. A blued version (459) will run in the $400 range or less but I haven't seen a New In Box Never Fired version in a long time.

On the plus side, you are in luck if you want to buy a replacement barrel bushing. I was buying some extra parts to set aside for my 459 recently and could only get the stainless barrel bushing from S&W. They said the blued bushings sold out a long time ago.
