Green Mountain .45ACP Barrel Blank?

Is anyone of the opinion that I could rechamber this beast to a longer/higher-pressure round than .45ACP?

I'd love to do .454 Casull or .460 S&W Magnum, even if I have to stay on the lower end of pressures.

I would think it would handle the pressure.
But the twist rate might be a little fast for either of the Magnums.

The GM barrel is 1/16.
.460 S&W is 1/20 gain twist.
.454 is often 1/24.

.45 Colts can be 1 in 16 or 1 in 38, as I recall--all depends on the manufacturer.

So, with a faster twist, would I want lighter bullets? Say in the 250-300gn range for either .454 or .460?

Faster twist will handle heavier bullets.

Probably will make no differance with lighter bullets as you really can't over-stabilize them.

It could increase pressure with max loads though.
