So my bolt carrier came in the mail yesterday so with the presidential debate on TV I put together my first AR. Functioned checked. Never done something like this before but got the bug a few months ago.

My wife was "ah that's nice" so I had to share it with someone who would care.

Mostly a Palmetto Armory build. The stripped lower was PA as was the LPK, with a magpul grip. The Upper was a PA upper madness. It's a 16" midlength in 5.56 with a 1:7 twist. The rear sight was a cheapy from CDNN. The charging handle and bolt carrier are Core15. I couldn't quite stomach a $50 Bravo Company charging handle, but the Core15 was $24 with the extended latch. The bolt carrier group is also a Core15, parkerized. Milspec buffer tube with a Magpul CTR stock (I think, still getting all the brands and parts mixed up).

I think that is everything. Just standard furniture on the front. I may put a magpul on the front to give me the option of attaching a picatanny rail to the underside for a grip or bipod. It though this would be a good centerfire rifle to move my kids up to. But I guess that can happen down the road.

Looks pretty much just like mine. Except mine is all black, rear MBUS and is a BCM upper.

I also got a PSA madness sale upper and love it. I did have to get rid of the M4 handguards though! FDE MOEs on yours would look great!

If I bought a gun and my wife said "ah that's nice", I'd be thrilled. I usually get much worse.

That is on the list but I no longer had the cash and the Madness uppers didn't allow for a change (at least not when I ordered them) they were take it or leave it. So sometime in the moderatly near future I'll be swapping out the handguard. I also thought I had ordered a FDE pmag, but it came in black (my mistake, checked the order form). I guess I have to stop bugging my wife about new color coordinated shooes since I seem to have to coordinate my rifle.

Yeah I couldn't upgrade the handguards on my order either but it doesn't hurt to have a spare set around anyway. Mine are in the closet now. As far as the magazine color, no big deal since you'll be wanting many more soon!
