I need a good gun belt!

Title pretty much sums it up. What would you guys recommend?

for ccw or competition ? if for a daily carry i really like the 5.11 tactical belt the one with the metal buckel. I had it for about two years wear it every day and its still stiff

You could also try your favorite holster maker. Most make belts. Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen, Tucker Gun Leather, High Noon, etc.

I think 1.5" width belt is the most versatile.

Same here. I like the web belt because no matter how many layers I may have on (long johns or whatever) I can always have the belt tensioned just right.

They are very affordable compared to most, and they have several different styles. They also carry the belt with a hidden zipper compartment in it.

it felt like wearing a hula hoop at first it was so stiff, then it "broke in" to the contour of my body and I cant even tell it's there now. It is still stiff up and down so my gun doesn't sag but it is very comfortable. I have had it for over 2 years now.

The only gun belt I own is made by crossbreed holsters. I am going to buy a second one soon. It works very well.

Mitch Rosen Express Line. I have one that I wear daily, and have carried using it for over 6 years and never once had a problem with sagging, or slipping. It is well worth the money I spent on it.

Be aware it is a 2 1/4" belt. Not many belt loops on either pants or concealment holsters will fit that.

Edit to add:
Of course if you are using a Safariland belt currently, you may be a law enforcement officer, so never mind the belt loop heads up. I was referencing the OP's desire for "every day casual dress".

I looked at The River Belt, I wouldn't want it run through the belt loops, a belt that wide isn't made to run through the loops. I want it so it rides over the Levi's belt anyway, easier adjustments, loosen if need be. Better looking in my opinion, with Bianchi holster and 4" Colt Trooper being toted along.

I picked up a A&G 1.5" "Quick Ship" belt last week and had it in about 3 days. Very nice belt. Has no problems keeping a full sized 1911 in place.

Bullhide belt here. As stated above stiff as H___l but once broken in a piece of heaven. Jusst bought a second and will probably get a 3rd for dress

I'm a fan of Comp Tac kydex reinforced belts. I have several in different styles and they are sturdy and well made. There are some on clearance now on their web site.

I've had a Wilderness Original for over a week now. Love it. It can be worn from hunting through dress casual and still look good. The 5 Stich is stiff but very controllable to fit and comfortable to wear. IMO.

I've been using a blackhawk polymer lined gun belt from Cheaperthandirt.com for ~$35 for the past 2 years. I've carried everything from a little S&W J frame to a G19, to a full size 1911 comfortably and securely with it.

Don't discount a good holster either.

I've had several thebeltman belts for years now with the oldest probably a couple of decades now. I always order them with the 3/4" center on the holes rather than the 1" centers as when carrying IWB they fit perfectly. They also look like a dress belt in different shades of brown and black. They really last forever if you take a bit of care of them.

Easy to find and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. This is one stiff belt, and it looks great.

Mine has held up great with p229,9c,PT145,p89 without any effort for 4 years now.

I have had a Cobra gunskin for years. Various yard sales have added several brand names for cheap money. Happy with all of them.

Get a belt made for carrying a gun. I've gone through a lot of belts. You get what you pay for. Best one that I've found is the Kramer horsehide.

The work on both was top-notch. As far as the belt, it has broken in well and stayed extremely supportive.

Prices on both were very reasonable, turn-around was quick and quality was on par with products I've seen priced much higher.
