Im curious if guy could re-barrel a standard 30-06 action to a 375 ruger with a simple barrel swap? I haven't compared dimensions side by side yet but i read that the 375 ruger is a standard action case.

You could have the bolt face opened up to magnum dimensions depending on the type of rifle it is. If it is a Mauser action or some direct variant it would not be all that difficult. I would have a professional perform the task though so you have a greater chance of achieving the required precision.

Is it a 77 MKII? If so you do need a master gunsmith with experience with mausers. Not some average parts changer or community collage smith . Tooling for ruger may turn away some smiths. Might also be cheaper to sell yours and buy what you want new.

An '06 -> .35 Whelen is a simple barrel change. Increases 'thumpability' factor quite a bit.
