Those type things are used to encourage more sales when things are slow. I would doubt if you see any special promotions, rebates, etc from any gun companies right now. They are selling more than they can make without any.

I usually notice promos from S&W prior to the holidays so I was going to hold off on buying a M&P.

They are out there now -

$30 rebate on new revolvers

$50 rebate on new M&P pistols

$100 rebate on new M&P rifles

all are the mail-in variety rebates - good thru the end of this year.

dreamer56 is correct; however; the rebates are only for all active duty, retired and disabled military and reservists.

That and they're only for revolvers and M&P's. In the past S&W has done $50 off rebates in Sigmas, making a good deal at $300 even better at $250. If they ran one right now it'd be hard for me to NOT find a way to buy a SDVE in .40 :).
