Thanks for the post. I was considering using my 10mm for this years hog shoot. I will have to get some of that ammo and give it a try.

Nice Hog, and nice gun.

nice shot. And a weird looking pig.

Are those texan boars a mix from euro-boar and feral domestic-pigs?
Or are they just gone feral? ( ...looks like it)

Nice shot and nice hog. I didn't know Kimber made a 10mm 1911. Pretty cool.

Domestic hogs are euro-boars. Where do you think hogs were domesticated from?

Except for genetics and some extensive craniometric analysis, there aren't any reliable phenotypic traits that will indicate a connection to recently (last 100 years or so and like everywhere else, Texas had importers) imported truly wild Eurasion hogs (aka Russian boars). Many of the phenotypic traits people point to are traits common to the species in general or common to hogs reverted to feral (leg length, hair qualities, tail curl, musculature, snout shape, size, aggression, etc.). Note that domestic hogs, feral, and Eurasian all the same species.

Very nice! I'd like to take one with a handgun, but always use a NV scoped powerful rifle (Remington 673 .350 Rem Mag with ATN Mk 390 Paladin), since we only get 2 or 3 nights a year down there and I don't wanna come home empty-handed.

I didn't know Kimber made a 10mm 1911.

Two, actually. The Stainless Target II and the Eclipse Custom II.

We got all kinds of colors, this mottled color and black are the two predominate ones. Here is one same color but larger about 275lbs that I got last yr using SIG RCS 45. And a black with brown feet taken with charter bulldog 44 spl.

Looks like a Poland China boar needing a little dental work. Maybe been using those baseball player steroids...

Pistol is the only way for boar hunting, imho. The few times I get to go, I usually choose the S&W 629 with a 4x scope.

Tested those Corbon BCSP's today. Didn't test too high though and posted info in general discussion. I wish Kevin would do a large grain BCSP.

I want to test my Dan Wesson 15-2 skills on a local hog with Buffalo Bore 180 gr cast gas check .357. Some call it foolish and say stick to the .30-.30. These pictures seem to imply the DW .357 might be fine medicine for helping the local Air Force Base with it's recent porcine problems. Ya think?
