Need to de-nickel & parkerize a pistol

I have a 1942 Mauser HSc that was badly nickeled at some point after the war. The nickel is bubbling & peeling in lots of places and just looks flat out ugly. I use this a my EDC so I'd like to get the nickel stripped and the pistol refinished. My initial preference is parkerized because it's better for carrying and the pistol's collector value (which would have been fairly high, alas) was destroyed by the nickel plating.

Is there a reasonably priced company out there that will do this?

Or how well do the various stripper chemicals from Brownell's actually work?

Other thoughts and suggestions entertained as well.

I'd bite the bullet and send it to Fords and get it done right.
An HSC deserves it.

As above, I'd go with a quality service like Ford's.
They do it right.

Home stripping can work, but it's rather messy and you have to be 100% certain you got all the nickel or when you apply a chemical finish like bluing or parkerizing any remaining plating will leave what looks like white freckles in the finish.

For the price of the Brownell's stripper, Ford's can probably electro-strip the plating.

Thank you for the link to Fords. I'll follow up with them as I agree, this pistol is worth getting done right.
