About an hour ago, I decided to fix my Mosin's sticky bolt. I cleaned some cosmoline out of the bolt, so I decided to test fire 2 rounds. The only problem is, I seated one of the rounds improperly, and now I have a single live round with the rim stuck. I think it's stuck below the interrupter, where there's a gap in the metal. Anyway, I've been pulling and prying and it's stuck good.

Is there a way to fix this?

Never mind. I got it out with a pen. It's all good now, hopefully.

I also fixed the sticky bolt! But my right ear is ringing :banghead: I was doubled up, fired 7 rounds. I didn't feel uncomfortable shooting. I guess it was a failure on both the plugs and the muffs. The muffs probably because of the foam gap, and the plugs are probably too porous. Live and learn.

Mosin's aren't the nicest guns that work and they are not the most quiet guns around. But when you hand your buddy the gun because he thinks its cool and shoots it, its worth a million dollars to see his face when the round goes off. Haha.

You outta see the greenish bruise on my shoulder from an extended practice session I had with my 32' hex receiver 91/30. Priceless.

If this happens again, there's a recessed tab in the bottom of the magazine. Pull it back and the bottom drops out.
Has saved me from rimlock once or twice.

Actually, I did open the magazine, but it was stuck. I managed to get it out by pushing with a pen.

The top round in the magazine should be held by the cartridge interrupter after the floorplate is opened. That is just how the interrupter works, it holds that top round up so it will not catch the rim of the cartridge below it. If everything is working properly, you should be able to just poke it down with your finger (push near the rim).
