Does anyone make a 1911 grip handled cane?

I've found a couple derringer handled canes and a very cool looking revolver handled cane and one straight cane with a vaguely 1911esque grip on it but was wondering if anyone carves/molds a more realistic 1911 grip cane.

Why? Why an AR or AK? Why an SBR, or an SMG. Why a Cobra GT? Because this is the USA and we can.

I hope the OP finds one and shares the source with all of us.

That gun argument doesn't really work here.

Understanding what the OP's objective is helps understand if he's looking for a simple grip with 1911 panels or he wants a 1911 shaped handle and if it negatively impacts the use of the cane as a defensive tool (grip panels vs. gun shaped handle).

If you want one just because you want one or because it looks cool, then I say have fun and hope you find what you are looking for.

However, if you actually need to use a cane I cannot imagine that would be very comfortable.

Just my $.02

I use a cane atm due to a foot injury (I believe the wood is called diamond hickory?) and will probably only need it for an other month or so; my old knee injury rarely requires the use of one.

I'm mostly looking for it for whimsy's sake, thought it would be interesting and I used to own a very nicely made wood 1911 with a working slide in various woods (the slide was a darkish red and the frame was blonde with very dark, nearly black grips if I recall correctly) and if it hadn't been stolen, I'd have that made to a cane topper if possible.

If anyone buys one from the links above, I'd advise them to ask the builder to make one out of something other than the pine he is using. It'll probably cost a lot more, but that beats having your $59 cane crack the first time you step outside with it.

hso,

I agree the standard "because I can" argument doesn't cover the whole question here. The intended use piece is key.

If one worked out a way to attach a 1911 grip to a cane with the shaft of the cane aligned as the 1911 barrel would be, the resulting angles would make the cane ergonomically unworkable.

Sakee,

I suggest getting a good solid hickory cane and some grips and a good piece of black polymer or wood and mounting it to the shaft with glue/screw.

that's what I'll likely do. as a kid I was a pretty dab hand at making wooden weapons (though the 1911 wasn't something I made, got it at an art show I think), had some cool little wood throwing stars, sais, and daggers, perhaps it's time to turn my interests back towards woods.
