OK. Thanks to all of your advise, I decided on the CZ 527 M1 American with synthetic stock as the donor rifle. The order is in and the rifle paid for. The wait begins.
I will fully test it before sending it off for re-bore.
Please stand by :)

Re-bored. That is why I bought a new rifle. So far the front runner for re-bore is Dan Pedersen of Classic Barrel and Gun Works www.cutrifle.com .
I am still looking for other re-bore smiths though - just to have done my homework.
I welcome all feedback and recommendations.
Cheers.

just seems to be that re-boring a barrel would be more work and more costly than getting your action trued and a new barrel chambered and installed. not sure how much re-boring cost though... also seems like reboring could induce stress back into the barrel, but Im no engineer... ill have to look more into it...
well, I guess that 250-300$ isnt as much as I would have thought. after reading the disclaimer though, I Dont know....

I looked at all options. Savage action re-barreled was the cheapest way to go. Many makers of Savage per-fit barrels out there. I simply like the weight, size, fit, finish, and quality of the CZ. I contemplated getting a wooden stock, they are beautiful. But I wanted a real light rifle. I will eventually put a Barracuda style stock on this rifle. I have a blank one (red & black lam) itching to get inlet-ed for a light-recoil rifle.
I hope the barrel survives re-boring. Otherwise this will be an expensive project.

please keep us posted as to how this turns out. I just got my lathe up and running and am hoping to start making ar15 uppers for sale in the next year or two. 6x45 would definatly be a great caliber for the ar. same parent case, only a barral swap and you get better ballistics. the other 6mm Ive always been intriged with is the 6mm turbo. I believe its the 6.5 grendel case necked down to 6mm. I think there getting 90 grain pills toward the 3000fps mark... Thats nuts! anyways, good luck, and remember to post pics!

I wish someone would make 6mm IHMSA. I like the capacity of 300 Savage case. A sharper shoulder and a less tapered body. I bet it would be a .243 level cartridge with much less powder (hence kick).
As you have already probably guessed, I am against recoil and do not suffer from magnum envy.
I have seen folks show up at the range with a 33-378 Weatherby to get it zeroed in for antelope hunting is SD, WY, or MT :what:

wanted tk make a correction. the 6mmAR and turbo use the 6.5 grendal case. not the 6.8 spc case I previously stated. very interesting cartridge...

The donor CZ 527 arrived yesterday afternoon. I have a pic but forgot to get it off my camera. So Pics later.
I like the weight, feel, and quality of the rifle. The action is a true micro Mauser. Very slim with two single-stack steel magazines - 3 (flush fit) and 5 capacity. There is very little room for loading longer heavier pills. I measured the inside at 2.350". I wanted to stick with Speer 85 gr SPBT anyway.
AA has great loading data for 6x45 on their website (PDF) using their 2200 & 2230 (my favorite powder).
It weighed in at 6 lbs 4 oz (no mag). The included CZ rings are excellent - but heavy (5+ oz). The trigger is single set and fully adjustable. I have not done anything with it yet.
I will be going to the range to stretch this baby's legs and see what she can do with AE 55 gr FMJs and then my handloads.
