Pray tell us about the Volcanic Arms lever action handgun you've got there.

Well, unfortunately that Volcanic pistol is a total fake. I bought it a couple years ago from a company that makes non-firing replicas (movie guns/stage props). That action does work on it, working the lever raises the cart. carrier block, cocks the hammer. It loads like a Henery rifle.
There's a fellow on You tube shooting on of those things, If I recall he built
this one, was shooting .22's in it.
There's a few originals still around, they come up for sale occasionaly on those gun auctions. As far as I can tell, no company makes a replica.

I hadn't thought of it before but I can't believe someone doesn't make a Volcanic replica.

Someone look into that.

I heard someone made a few Volcanic copies, but they didn't last long in business. I think they were in Montana

US Henry could make us a .22 LR version, I bet!

Are you sure it was .22? I am asking because I remember reading about someone building one based on a wildcat cartridge made by cutting down a .40 s&w case to .550 so it would fit within the original dimensions of the action(or at least what he was able to calculate based on pictures) as even the .22 short is to long for the original action.

Here is a some more information about his Volcanic build:

I could be wrong, but I think that's the same Charlie who posts on the home gunsmith forum. His builds are amazing. He is extremely talented.

He posted about his Volcanic build on Leverguns forum also. It was indeed an amazing gun. He does have true talent.

Interesting! I never knew there was a direct descent from the Volcanic to the Henry. Thought the Volcanic was a one-off experiment.
