Happy, happy! Joy, joy!

I mastered a very difficult skill tonight!
I settled down with my .223 FAL, controlled my breathing, limbered my fingers...
...and got a damned Blackhawk tac sling on it all by myself!
:D
I was so happy I just had to share! ;)

The Blackhawk sling instructional drawings are just a wonder of understatement aren't they? :D

Heh.
Calling them "instructions" is being about as hyperbolic as Blackhawk advertising... ;) :D
"Insert tab A into slot B. Thread strap Y through buckle Z. Wrap attachment AA around velcro bit Q. Put head, right arm and right shoulder through resulting loop. Stand up. Watch rifle clatter loudly to floor. Undo everything you just did. Start over. Beat head C against wall D"...

Tamara, when I read this...
Happy, happy! Joy, joy!
My first reaction was that you just snagged a pre-ban Steyr Aug at a local gun show for next to nothing.. :D
If you get this excited over a sling, I wonder what a "Just bought a Steyr Aug" post will sound like.

Slingmaster T: Kudos on the slinging. Glad you didn't have to use safety pins. :D

It's amazing how some of the "simple" things in life can bring so much joy. Bonding with a recently acquired and long desired gun comes to mind.
Today I was about to hop on the bike when the mail man (yes, he's a mail man and not a mail carrier/person) came with a heavy packet. It contained two books that I wanted for about 4 years. They were available, but at $300 I'll pass. Then they were reprinted in paperback and considerably more affordable. Still, it cost over 50 pounds for the pair but what a joy it is to have them.

Lordy, Lordy. I'd have hated to have been a fly on the wall before the Lady Tam got coordinated!
What we really need here at THR is a "Dancing Snoopy" icon. It's the epitome of happiness.

Tamara,
I share your joy for accomplishing the seemingly impossible, on something that should be incredibly simplistic.
Had a sling for a Chinese SKS that I fought with for about a hour and a half before getting the little metal do-dad thru the slot in the "leather". Once I got it on, I hated the look of it, so I turfed it after fighting with it for another hour.
I swear that the Chinese must use Cape Buffalo hide for the end of their slings...:banghead:

Tam,
When I put my evil tactical black assault sling on my AR I used the following method:
1- Look at instructions
2- Get POed
3- Burn instructions
4- Stare at sling for 10 minutes
5- Assemble in 1 minute :D

Sounds like when I was installing the sling on my Arisaka Type 99 from Sarco. The product was great. Just that I took it apart before I knew what I was doing. Really difficult to get right.
