Beautiful '66 Doc.
Do you shoot bp in 'em ?
I'd like to shoot me one o' them Yella Boys some time.
What caliber is yours ?

There was a recent discussion here 'bout havin a forestock on a shoulder stocked wheel gun.The consensus was don't do it.
Well, the Circuit Judge goes to show that it's feseable with the flash shields.
Tho,don't 'spect they'd work too good in a chain fire http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=173279&d=1349922206

My 1866 is .45LC, I looove that rifle! A year ago I did some minor gunsmithing
on it. I replaced the flat hammer spring with a twin coil spring gizmo from
Pioneer gunworks. This rquired some minor filing under the hammer frame and
reaming out the stock so it would fit over the springs.
Had broken two flat hammer springs in the past. Don't have to worry about broken hammer springs now!

Also replaced the brass carrier block with an alumnium block that has a slightly altered top which allows for more positive case ejection.,
also added a modified bolt/ejector claw setup. Also have a set of "short-throw" internal toggle links which I haven't gotten around to installing. All from Pioneer.
This rifle will shoot as fast as you can load, fire & eject the empties.

I feed my 66 on whatever I can get locally, either Utramax 250gr/round nose flat point or Winchester .45 225gr bonded jacketed hollow point. I have to travel 30 miles to get the Utlramax at a large gun/sporting good store, however my local home town Wally World has been stocking 45 LC. now.

I go out to my farm and snipe rabbits with the 66, the hollow points really
knocks them end over end.

As far as the Circuit Judge, that's a great little wheel carbine. Haven't had any problems with cylinder gap blowby because of that little blast deflecter
tab sticking out on the left side of the cylinder. ONly thing you have to remember is to change out your choke inerts for shooting either 45LC or

If the Circuit Judge had been available at the time, I would have bought one for my wife, instead of the Mossberg HS410, due to the fact that it's simpler to load and operate.
The Rossi site shows it made in different calibers/gauges, but I don't think they're imported to the US.
