I am going to get my daughter a S&W Model 63 for Christmas and she wants pink pearlite grips for it.

I was able to find the Houge Monogrip which is pink, but I can't find pink pearlite grips for it.

Oh, the horror! How do my eyes unsee those grips? Gasp - show her how good the '60 Pro' grips look on the recent 63's:

You could paint them pink... for a while - strip them back to wood later. No reasoning with women, however. My wife's new gecko green Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4dr) wasn't complete until she put a pink fuzzy steering wheel cover on it - and eyelashes on the headlights. No, I don't drive it...

The horror.....the horror. That poor Jeep looks spayed and neutered and with the only reasonable thing to do is putting it out of it's misery.

:neener:Yeah, but I'll bet there's a great looking trailor hitch on the Jeep!

Not a fan of the pink pearlite grips though...

Hey, what's the big deal? If the woman wants pink grips, get the pink grips for her!

That's a good price for what you're looking for in Post #2, jump on them...

Are those both Model 63 ?

I thought the Model 63 only come with a 3" barrel, is one of those an older model or something?

Thanks for the link General. As much as I dont like pink grips, I just ordered the pink pearlite grips for my wifes J frame. A couple of months ago she asked me about red or pink grips to make her J frame a little more feminine looking, those ought to do it.

C.Z.,

The 5" 63, a 63-4, was out for a few years ending a couple of years prior to the 3" 63 (63-5) hitting the streets 11/10. I bought the unused 5" 63 from a friends estate. It has the same lockwork & 8x cylinder as the later 3" 63, but I added the HiViz front sight, grips, springs, and some innard smoothing to make it acceptable. The 3" 63 just got grips - it's lockwork was great nib. Fun revolver - probably gets shot 10x as much as the 5"-er - maybe more than my 4" 617.

My daughter is turning 11

I've read a lot of posts where guys have said their wives and their daughters love the Model 63.

I'd rather get her the Model 63 than something like a Cricket, but the pink grips are a must - she flat out does not want a gun that is not pink.

She also doesn't like black.

I thought about the Charter Arms Pathfinder (CA sells Pink grips for it), but I've read about too many QC problems with it - reviews of the barrel being canted or the front sight being too high...

A S&W 63 would be an awesome choice as a handgun for a young girl. Really fun to shoot, she won't outgrow it, and it will have lasting value. The 63 is one of my favorite .22 revolvers.

If she wants pink grips, then so be it! Nothing wrong with that all.
