I will admit revolvers chambered for pistol cartridges do not appeal to me but this gun has potential. It is S&W six shot 8" RB revolver chambered for the 10mm cartridge. I would think 8" RB fluted cylinder to be more rare version of this S&W type. One could use hot 10mm cartridges for hunting and milder .40S&W ammo for HD. Ammo was available at Walmart even around last election when most other handgun ammo shelf spaces were empty.

S&W 610 is the only one with which I'm familiar. I shot one and liked it. I had a trigger job and was sweet.

It's stainless N-framed revolver round butt and the barrel is actually 6.5" long. I will sleep on decision till tomorrow and see if I still want it. Since I already own 10mm Glock I will try to resist buying it as much as possible.

Nice guns. This is my first 50 shots with mine. Offhand 15 yrds.

I had a 5" 610 also but never liked the balance of it. 6.5" is the way to go.

It looks just like that one except it has smooth wood grips with finger grooves and S&W Medallions. Since I have plenty of 10mm ammo already I might have to shatter my dream of one handgun ownership and get one. At one time I had sixteen guns and I do not want to ever go there again so I must be very, very selective with my purchases.

Hmmm

Sixteen doesn't sound like too many to me. ;)

I have a 4" 610-3 (yes it has the lock) that I have used extensively for USPSA matches. I like the fact that it can use the same .40 ammo as my Limited gun. I have no complaints. It is a fine gun.

Since the 610 doesn't have OAL issues of semi-autos, and is quite strong, one can work up some pretty spicey loads for it. I'm very happy with mine.

I managed to keep my dream alive by realizing I do not hunt nor like to shoot a lot therefore I do not need large longer range handgun. It was close and the 610 is very worthwhile revolver.
