.223 round safe to shoot?

As you can see, this .223 case has a wrinkle right at the shoulder. This is a (Finocchi) factory defect, not a reload, but I wonder if I shouldn't just toss it.

Probably safe but if in doubt toss it. Pull it down and try to re-size it but it probably won't take out the crease.

Shoot it.
The dent will mysteriously disappear afterwords.
Dents further back near the case head are more dangerous, as that can give gas a channel out of the chamber seal.
That one right there won't hurt a thing.

As rcmodel once said, "Choot 'em Lizbet"
(at least I think that's what he said) ;)
That dent is nothing to be concerned with.
Just make sure it does NOT interfere with the round going into full battery.

I have fired rounds with worth defects from Lake City. Should be pretty safe to shoot.

shoot it. It will dissapear, the pressures will force the crease out. and all will be good again on Seasme Street.

shoot it... and all will be good again on Sesame Street.
That is unless you shoot that round at Big Bird, then, not so much! :p

I'd shoot it, it will fire form in the rifle

Looks perfectly safe to me. That will likely fire-form out or come out in the resizing die later.

Any reloader would tell you to just shoot that round...nothing unsafe about it at all. The wrinkle will iron out when the round is fired. It's common, when sizing brass and using too much lube, to get little dents like that @ the shoulder.

Thanks, guys. I'll go ahead and shoot that one. Not sure how that crease got there - it appears that something sharp scraped along the side of the case for an inch or so. It was like that out of Fiocchi's box...
