Depends on the application.

For 9mm, I prefer RN but I am growing to like SWC. I prefer the newer nose profile like Missouri 125 RN with longer bearing surface. The longer bearing surface of the bullet base seems to generate more consistent chamber pressures for more accurate shot groups.

Here's a comparison picture of various 9mm 124/125/126 gr lead bullets. Notice the differences in the length of bearing surface (part of the bullet base that engages the rifling). My take is that longer the bearing surface, better the gas seal and rotation to stabilize the bullet in flight for more accurate shot groups.
Missouri 125 RN (SmallBall (http://www.missouribullet.com/details.php?prodId=51&category=5&secondary=8&keywords=)) has shorter, more rounder nose but this allows for longer bearing surface length. IMO, this nose profile provides better accuracy over the more pointed RN profiles. BTW, Dardas also sells shorter/rounder RN 9mm (http://www.dardascastbullets.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=dardas&Category_Code=9).

I really don't have a preference. If it shoots well all is good.

I always liked the pre-petaled HP's.

Add me to the view count with no vote - It only asks for cast lead choice and I only load plated or FMJ, regardless of caliber.
