I haven't heard from anybody who opposes the AWB - Sen. Mike Dewine (R-OH)

Dewine just said on the Senate floor that he has not heard from a single caller who opposes the assault weapons ban.
So did everyone forget to call him or do we have a Senator that just utterly blew you off and denied you even tried to reach him?
Can't WAIT to see that transcript from today - that will make a nice NRA commercial for his re-election campaign.

I wouldn't be surprised if people forgot to call him. Everyone was probably fighting for CCW. I don't remember ever seeing anything about the AWB on ofcc.net. Oh well.
I've noticed that on just about every one of these fireamr site/forums the AWB threads are never perma-floated. Even with floats, you have to dig through the forums just to find any mention of the AWB at all. Glocktalk, AR15.com, and so on don't have banners or anything. Cheaper than Dirt isn't sending out flyers which they could easily do instead of those free wrist compasses. I respect all the different site owners decision not to perma-sticky threads or put up a banner pointing to awbsunset.com, but come on folks. If we can't even get a thread perma-floated what makes anyone think the ban is going to go away?

Last Friday, I called my Senators (Voinovich & DeWine both) and urged them to vote for S1805 with NO amendments, and to make sure the "AWB" never gets to Pres. Bush's desk.
Don't know what is going to happen, cause my guys are about as R.I.N.O. as they come.
"look it up in your Funk & Wagnalls"...under R.I.N.O. Ther you will see a group pic of DeWine & Voinovich.
P.S. Detachment Charlie, You are waaaay too kind.

On Friday I posted about my congress turd Mike castle from DE introducing an innocuous piece of feces, HR 3831 the AWB renewal which seeks to renew the AWB for another 10 years just the way it is. You know what our glorious leader G.W. Bush said he would vote for!!!:fire:
I got three replies, everyone is concerned with 659/1805 Lwful protection etc.
Its HR 3831 that us trojans should worry about like a trojan horse.
Warm up the phones.
I already e-mailed my fellow gun club members, who were all a titter about 1805/659, none of them knew, even though it was front page second section of the local paper friday morning.
Of course none of them own assault weapons:barf:
Just bullseye pistols you know M1911, that military ASSAULT PISTOL they will try to ban next.:barf:

Freakin' Lyin' POS
I called both his Washington DC office and his local office in Xenia, OH. I VERY clearly stated (and politely) that I opposed the extension of the AWB, the addition of ANY amendments to the Gun Immunity Bill, AND that if he continued to support such anti-American amendments, that he would lose my vote and my support. I then followed that up with an email (since snail mail is not currently being delivered).
:banghead: :cuss: :fire:
BTW, I'll call again first thing tomorrow and call him a liar, directly to whoever answers the phone!

My letter to Sen. DeWine:
Dear Senator DeWine,
As I have previously stated in both phone calls and emails, I strongly oppose any effort to extend the 1994 Assault Weapon Ban. I have contacted both your Washington DC and Xenia, OH offices regarding this matter. The government's own study, conducted by the CDC conclusively concluded that the AWB has done NOTHING to reduce crime or make the streets safer. The only effect has been to interfere with the lawful ownership of rifles which Americans are clearly entitled to own under the Second Amendment.
If you wish to continue to betray the Republican Party and Americans everywhere, feel free to vote to include the AWB amendment in the Gun Immunity bill, but doing so will bring to an end my longtime support, which dates back to your days as a state legsilator. Furthermore, if you wish to continue to support such measures, please be honest when you speak on the Senate floor. I have personally contacted you at least 4 times and I have dozens of friends and acquaintances who have also contacted your offices to urge you to do the right thing on this issue. Own your stance and don't lie while claiming that "no one" has contacted you opposing the AWB...I have, and am doing so again.
Sincerely,
Mark XXXXXXXX

No actually I'm not joking. I remember over on Glocktalk NY patriot's letter thread would get knocked off the sticky list for a while then everyone would have to 'btt' it until someone decided to sticky it again.

DeWine is a liar.
I sent him the following email last Thursday:
Senator DeWine:
You stated you are in favor of renewing the assault weapons ban. I am informing you that we have a God-given, inalienable right to bear any kind of weapon of our choosing, including a so-called "assault weapon." You have absolutely no authority to infringe on this right. Your position is treasonous, and will cost you your re-election in November.
Sincerely,

DeWine is a Traitor.
Traitor
\Trai"tor\, n. [OE. traitour, OF. tra["i]tor, tra["i]teur, F. tre[^i]tre, L. traditor, fr. tradere, traditum, to deliver, to give up or surrender treacherously, to betray; trans across, over + dare to give. See Date time, and cf. Betray,Tradition, Traditor, Treason.] 1. One who violates his allegiance and betrays his country; one guilty of treason; one who, in breach of trust, delivers his country to an enemy, or yields up any fort or place intrusted to his defense, or surrenders an army or body of troops to the enemy, unless when vanquished; also, one who takes arms and levies war against his country; or one who aids an enemy in conquering his country. See Treason.
I am so :fire: :cuss: :fire: I cannot find the words to express myself.

BluesMan, you are waaaaay too kind in describing DeWine as a traitor.
Looks like in November, it will probably be State Sen Eric Fingerhut (D) vs. Voinovich (R.I.N.O.) for 1 US Senate seat. (Today's Primary winner dependent)
And we all know that Fingerhut is about as usefull as the crapola you could buy from the mail-order company of the same name.
Not sure, and have no way to prove it, but the way Fingerhut kept throwing up roadblocks, amendments, etc to the Ohio CCW reform bill, he almost HAD to be one of Guv. Booby Daft's puppets. And Guv. Booby is another RINO that will NEVER get another vote from me.
Unless he [Guv Booby] is running for 5th alternate 3rd shift sewer worker.....in Baghdad

"Dewine just said on the Senate floor that he has not heard from a single caller who opposes the assault weapons ban. "
Fax a letter to Larry Craig or Orrin Hatch's office. I'm certain that they would be willing to have an aid hand deliver it or deliver it personally during debate.

Anyone live near one of his offices? Maybe it's time to get a bunch of friends to make a visit when he's in town and see him face to face. You know, just to make sure that he gets the memo from the secretary. Maybe say something like "We are the people who called, faxed and wrote you and you ignored us. You said you didn't hear from us. We're here now."
A few hundred people would suffice to expose his falsehoods on the six o'clock news.

any AWB renewal that hits senate floor will get shot down when a amendment gets attached to ban frivilous lawsuits against the gun manufacturers, dealers and distributors.

I called Mr. DeWine's office and spoke with Patrick. I spoke slowly and without anger in my voice. I expressed my disappointment with his votes on the AWB amendment and the bill itself after all the poison pills were added. I politely made two requests and asked him to answer a question.
Request #1: Please re-read the Bill of Rights
Request #2: Please review your Oath of Office.
Question: Why?
That's it. Just answer for me "Why?" Why would you vote that way knowing that neither vote supports nor defends the Constitution of the United States?
Then I called the Ohio Republican Party in Columbus and asked them a question - "Why should I send you money when you support a RINO who does not represent the will of the people of Ohio who put him in office?"
I think I'll look into what has to be done to recall a senator... :fire:

Republicans certainly aren't perfect on the Second Amendment; but a quick look at any voting record will show that Dewine is an aberration among Republicans, not the rule.

I've watched Mike 'The Whine' Dewine on the senate floor. He does one of the best inpressions of 'Tricky' Dick Nixon I've ever seen. Got the hunched shoulders, clasped hands just about perfect.
