150 gr. wc : 3.1 of titegroup gives 854fps , max given as 3.5grs this taken from the new Lyman "Pistol + Revolver " hand book.. You would be VERY wise to get a reloading book of your own!!!

3 grains, but you can go lower.
Be careful using Titegroup in .38 Special, it disappears in the tall narrow case. It would be very easy to miss a double-charge or an empty even though you're going to look in every one before you seat the bullet. (TG is my least favorite powder)

I have several which I use but not one with the exact load and was wondering what some of you out there were using. Going with 3.1 to start. Range trip to chrono on Friday.....:)

hapidogbreath,
Why Titegroup? I know there are many who like that powder in the .38 Special for for the life of me I can't figure out why. There are so many good powders for the .38 Special why use one that you have trouble finding load data for?
Clays, HP-38, Universal, W231, WST, 700X, PB, Red Dot, Bullseye, Unique, Nitro 100, AA#2, AA#5, Zip and probable a bunch more I didn't list are all good choices for use in the .38 Special, why Titegroup?

It the moderators approve can you give information on where to get double ended wad cutters? It sounds like an interesting bullet. I assume that it is swagged and difficult to cast.

Missouri Bullet sells a cast. I load it and use if for match loads. Great bullet, very accurate. I load it over 2.9gr of AA#2.

I'm loading W231 under Cast 148gr DEWC bullets. Also very accurate. IMO you have to really work at producing a 148gr WC load that's not accurate. Clays is also a good choice for those bullets.

It would seem if you could adjust the hardness just right at moderate velocities it would be a great hunting load for racoons, possums, foxes (I really likes foxes and would not want to kill one w/o good reason) and maybe even coyotes.

Very true. The only ones I made that werent real accurate were ones I put a roll crimp on. They stil werent bad, just not as accurate as the ones with with no crimp/light taper.
