Shotgun patterning problems

I have a mossberg 500 with 24 inch accu choke barrel. When using the xtra full choke, it seems to pattern about 2 feet to the left at 25 yards. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have tried a couple different turkey loads, and they all seem to pattern about the same, as in far to the left. I have tru glo fiber optic sights and it is a mossberg factory choke. Any suggestions or should I just try another brand of turkey choke?

Are you standing and shooting freehand or off a bench? If off a bench, try freehand. Extra full is notorious for blowing patterns into huge donut shapes

It is shooting off a bench, but I get similar results from sitting position as well. When I hold over far right, it still has a tight pattern. If xtra full is known for problems, do you think using the modified choke may be adequate for turkeys, or should I just get used to holding over far right?

Personally, I would try a few different brands of ammo and choke ombos to see what works best in YOUR gun - each gun/ammo combo is different - not quite to the degree as it is in target rifles, but enough that changing a choke size or ammo brand might make a difference

2 feet to the left at 25 yards To be that far off, i am thinking a defective barrel with the choke threads crooked. Does it do it with a different choke and bird shot? How about when someone else shoots the shotgun?

I agree on having others shoot it as well, a small flinch as the trigger is pulled can make that difference occur; and try a variety of ammo. While not QUITE as picky as rifles, shotguns do have a tendency to like certain ammo over others

It patterns quite well with a modified choke and has no problem dropping squirrels. Switched out to the slug barrel today as I was going after whitetail instead, and I dropped a nice 4 pointer. I don't think I am flinching with turkey loads if I am not flinching shooting slugs. I think I will try to pattern again with a different choke tube before I try to go after turkeys again.

Thanks for the help.

Would seem to be the choke tube then.

I remember years ago where a fella had the same issue with the factory extra-full choke in his NEF 10 bore. The solution was another brand of choke tube IIRC.
