Threading a 10/22 takedown or adding sights to a 10/22-FS

Is it practical to relocate the front sight and thread a 10/22 takedown barrel? Any guess at the cost?

Local store has the 10/22-FS on sale. Maybe adding sights to it would be simpler. I'm not enthused about not having an iron sight option. The takedown feature is nice, but it's not a high priority.

I made one of my 10/22's an SBR and reused the factory sights. If you only moved it back enough for 5/8" of 1/2-28 threads I think the sight would be too low.

The rifle above is just as compact as my takedown 10/22 but is always ready to fire.

Good point. I was thinking that a folding stock would be a likely future mod.

I believe Davidson's has a special run of 10-22 takedowns with the barrels already threaded. Non in stock, but you could order one if you can wait.
