I'm thinking about getting a new 22mag auto. Has anyone bought or shot a Black Lightning? They're made by Mitchells Mausers. What little I've read about them, they seem good to go but I figured I'd better check here first.

I've never even heard of them and I'm assuming I'm not the only one. I'm sure someone will be along with some info. Just give them more than 45 minutes to do it.

I want trying to hurry anyone, I just decided they might not be very popular after all. Thanks

Looks very front heavy with that bull barrel, especially with a light polymer receiver and stock.

How does it shoot?

Windy (again) but shot it enough to hit rocks at 50 yards. Some trouble ejecting at first. I called Mitchells and was told to use Break free instead of Rem Oil. Works pretty well now. I'll try to paper it tomorrow.

Thanks but I really dont see a 22mag being a tack driver. I think I'll go with a Magnum Research 22lr for that. They are suppose to be THE 22 auto. I'll see what the weather is like tomorrow.

Haha, don't tell that to my old Marlin 25mn. .5" or smaller at 50 yards with a trigger job and free floating the barrel.

OP, where does one put the magazine? If it is in the grip, is it a proprietary magazine or is it commonly available?

Yep it's in the grip and sold by Mitchel Mauser for $30.00. I got 3 with it.

Tried a few brands today finally It shoots them all pretty good. This was the best with CCI total metal jackets close behind.
